She gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb.  It&#8217;s hard to believe these were actually done by first graders, but there are some good ones nonetheless their insight may surprise you.<\/p>\n<p>Better to be safe than &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. punch a 5th grader.<\/p>\n<p>Strike while the &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. bug is close.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s always darkest before &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;. Daylight Savings Time.<\/p>\n<p>Never underestimate the power of &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;. termites.<\/p>\n<p>You can lead a horse to water but &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; how?<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t bite the hand that &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; looks dirty.<\/p>\n<p>No news is &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. impossible.<\/p>\n<p>A miss is as good as a &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. Mr.<\/p>\n<p>You can&#8217;t teach an old dog new &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; math.<\/p>\n<p>If you lie down with dogs, you&#8217;ll &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; stink in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>Love all, trust &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; me.<\/p>\n<p>The pen is mightier than the &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. pigs.<\/p>\n<p>An idle mind is &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; the best way to relax.<\/p>\n<p>Where there&#8217;s smoke there&#8217;s &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; pollution.<\/p>\n<p>Happy the bride who &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. gets all the presents.<\/p>\n<p>A penny saved is &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. not much.<\/p>\n<p>Two&#8217;s company, three&#8217;s &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. the Musketeers.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t put off till tomorrow what &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;. you put on to go to bed.<\/p>\n<p>Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and &#8230;&#8230;. you have to blow your nose.<\/p>\n<p>There are none so blind as &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.
