Sing this to the tune of My Favorite Things from the Sound of Music…<\/p>\n
Good return visits and good Bible studies,
\nFruitful long hours with my service buddies,
\nMagazine routes that are flourishing well,
\nPeople that tell me that I’m doing swell,<\/p>\n
Doughnuts and coffee and hot chocolate steaming,
\nPlaced all my literature–think that I’m dreaming,
\nPeople who welcome the good news I bring,
\nThese are a few of my favorite things.<\/p>\n
When the dog bites, when the door slams,
\nWhen I’m told “get lost”,
\nI simply remember my favorite things
\nand then I don’t feel…so cross.<\/p>\n
Big service meetings and publishers plenty,
\nFinding sheep-like ones though they are not many,
\nCars that keep running though tied up with strings,
\nPioneer school and the joy that it brings.<\/p>\n
Blue skies and sunshine although it is our fate,
\nTo live in the cloudiest spot in the whole state,
\nGetting my time in on days that it rained,
\nPeople who help me when I’m feeling drained.<\/p>\n
When I’m so broke, that it’s no joke,
\nWhen I’m unemployed,
\nI simply remember my favorite things
\nand then I’m not so…annoyed.<\/p>\n
Drafts up our dresses and holes in our mittens,
\nIce on our boots and our toes get frost bitten,
\nHouseholders screaming abusively loud,
\nPlease tell me there’s just one sheep in this crowd.<\/p>\n
Wind that is cutting and noses that freeze,
\nA lunch of some hot macaroni and cheese,
\nTelling the world of our glorious king,
\nThese are a few of my favorite things.<\/p>\n
When I feel ill and the group’s nil,
\nWhen it’s wet and grey,
\nI simply remember my favorite things
